America Still Matters

Our American Heritage

  • In 1620, Pilgrims from England washed up on Plymouth Rock, Massachusetts.  They were seeking a place where they could live out the freedom of religion in peace and tranquility.

  • Having forged a peace with the Native American people they encountered  -- a peace that lasted over 50 years  -- these Pilgrims set in motion a ripple effect that created the value system for all of American civilization.

  • These Pilgrims even rejected slavery and arrested the slave traders who tried to bring slavery to their colony.  Since 1620, America has seen great success when keeping and holding to the values set forth by the Pilgrims of the 1620 Plymouth Colony.

  • From free enterprise to the right to keep and bear arms, to private property and religious liberty, the foundational beliefs for the Constitution and the Bill of Rights came out of the 1620 Plymouth Colony experience.

  • History records that when the American people hold to the values set forth by those Pilgrims, we prosper.  When we stray from those values we harm our nation and our people.

  • Recognizing the values that made our civilization successful, helps us to be a more fair, just and free people.

Let freedom ring

  • We believe that ALL Americans have a God-given right to practice and express their own individual liberty and right of conscience.

  • We live in a day and age when words like liberty, justice, equity, tolerance, diversity and inclusion are thrown around without much thought to what they mean.  Actually putting those values into practice begins with the understanding that each and every American is an individual with his or her own right to self-determinism.

  • As American citizens, we must respect each others differences and allow for each person to advance their pursuit of happiness without imposing a cookie-cutter, one-size-fits-all mentality on one other.

  • The rise of the "Cancel Culture" and the free-thought stifling tactics that they employ, is completely contradictory to the values that are written into our Constitutional form of government.

  • As Charlton Heston once said:  "Political correctness is just tyranny with manners.  I wish for you the courage to be unpopular. Popularity is history's pocket change. Courage is history's true currency."
